Bitcoin Cash
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a cryptocurrency that emerged from a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain in 2017. It was developed to address issues of transaction speed and scalability by implementing several modifications to the original Bitcoin protocol.
The primary distinction between Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin lies in the block size. A disagreement within the Bitcoin community in 2017 led to the creation of Bitcoin Cash, which features significantly larger blocks to enhance transaction throughput.
While Bitcoin Cash shares many technical features with Bitcoin, including a maximum supply of 21 million coins and the use of a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism, it is specifically optimized for faster peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions. Unlike Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash does not incorporate Segregated Witness (SegWit).
